What size conduit for Openserve FTTH

We want to install Openserve FTTH but do not want the wire hanging from the pole at the end of the garden to the house.

Can we install a conduit with a cord in for them to pull the fiber through?

What size conduit should we use?
 
20mm Would be sufficient.

Either use a spring conduit bender or buy the larger size bends. Do not use the little elbows.

Insert draw boxes after every second length of conduit in case something goes wrong, the contractor needs to open up and pull "manually".

This last bit is extremely important. Glue the joins in the conduit with PVC cement. Close up the round boxes / draw boxes.

Thanks, Have you done this before? Just want to know how willing Openserve is to pull through conduit, must take more time than just hanging the wire on the house and pole.

We do it for a living.

The Openserve technician will probably thank you as he or she won't have to do aerial fibre spans.

Openserve will not pull a cable through conduit if it's an aerial install unless the contractor is friendly but in most cases they will not allow it.

That's strange as we've done this exact exercise many times.

Cool so I trenched my own 20mm conduit for Openserve to run into my property. Openserve was actually pretty cool with this factor.
Not had any issues with the contractors infact they are less troublesome than the Frogfoot guys, they are the pain on my ass.
 
I have vodacom and openserve fibre by my gate. However, the shortest way to get fibre into my property is like below. That is still 50-odd meters. Had the openserve guys here a few times and they had no issue with me running a conduit on the wall from the gate, across my neighbor's wall, and then into the ground on my side to the termination point.

Just a moerse schlep. The neighbor does not have an issue with the conduit on her wall.

Just check with openserve. At my old bosses place they ran the fibre cable just like that from a wooden post.

Meanwhile my Vuma Reach install the installer ran the fibre through a 20mm conduit to where it was needed
 
Openserve have been building in my area for the past few months, they wanted to put poles in my yard and I told them no.

NOOOO Don't do that!
They will literally skip your house and everyone around you will have fiber, but your place will have 0 and good luck trying to get Openserve to install then.
This is what they call Aerial fiber which is deployed much like the old ADSL copper lines back in the day, faster and able to bypass trenching which can be destructive

Contractor for openserve recently requested me to run conduit with a draw string when I said I don't want an aerial cable. Probably 50m or so to where I wanted the fibre point. I do think they do it

There's already a pole 2 doors away, don't know why they want to put another pole

Problem comes in when you want to sell one day and the estate agent asks; "how many fibre connections does the property have?".

"None" means an entire segment of purchasers will just move onto the next house while browsing the web, looking for their dream home.

They have already installed a pole <30m from property, I don't see why they need to put another pole.

Fiber runs directly from pole to your house. So generally each house will have a pole on their property or on a corner shared by the properties at the corner.

Also I am not sure if they need to listen to you when you say no. I believe they do not need the property owners consent.
