Hi there.

What software would you recommend I install on the PC my children use? I don't want porn pop ups to sommer net jump up and also not want them to access something like that.

I had a look at Net Nanny and Cyber Patrol. Which one can you recommend?

Thank you so long.

Thanx very much. Have already downloaded it and will install during afternoon.

The only way to protect your kids from the bad internet is to supervise them and teach them. Don't rely on gimmicks. You don't send your kids alone out into the street or into a place full of strangers without giving them advice and first supervising them - don't do it here. Rather don't give them any internet at all.

Also do not allow your kids to have PCs in their rooms. Create a central family hub where all PCs are. Allow your kids to see what you are up to as well. Never allow young kids to be unsupervised on the internet.

This rule applies MXiT and other IM services.

I heard about good things of OpenDNS, but I don't know if it can block all the porn. Maybe you need a professional porn filter? There are also many other ways to parental control, keep your options open, guys.

What's with the "protecting children from porn" thing?
Parents should teach their rugrats well and not rely on software to do their jobs.
Cellphones and MXit are much more dangerous than an open PC on the internet, but one sees almost all primary school children sitting with internet capable cellphones.
They even get run over because they're more interested in their MXit while roaming the streets than looking out for cars.
