What speed should i be getting

Hi all, what speed should i be able to download with on a adsl 384 line ?
Been getting between 50 to 60 kbs is that right ?

check your router stats and see what you syncing at

Is it bits or bytes. if it is bits than it is way below standard. if it is bytes than it is way above 60x8=480kbps

Sometimes when downloads vary irregularly, they hit 50 to 60, when maybe you're just started to download, or when there's not much traffic, but they revert to the 40's which is the expected/constant speed.

384kb/s / 8 = 48kB/s.
You can't be downloading at 50kB/s, go here and post your result.

I get some wonderfully erratic high speeds at times or is yours consistent?
In that case im jealous!
