What to do with used laser printer cartridges?

So I have this colour HP laser printer at work. It has 5 cartridges for different colours. What can I do with the empty cartridges, should I throw them away, recycle them, or can I sell or trade them in?

Supposedly HP can dispose of them for you, but I've never heard of the system actually working.

You could give them in at a place that either sells or remanufactures them. You can normally get a credit you can then use towards the purchase of new toner(s).

A box will be sent to you via a courier. When it is full notify HP and they will collect the box. Easy peasy.
