What web-host would you recommend?

Host Gator. Awesome customer service and products. Been using them for over 3 years now and never had a problem what so ever. I stick by them.

Crappy Service, I paid for a year, wasn't happy with them after few months so requested cancellation and transfer of my domain, the domain was transferred, then once the year had elapsed my account was debited even though the account was canceled and the initial debit order instruction stated that it was for a once off debit order, they refused to refund the money even though they knew that the account was canceled.

Their hosting is international, but their service and support is top notch, they've got a forum presence here as well.

For local hosting, Hetzner is the best (they host MyBB). I have had clients using their hosting facilities and it's amazing, as is the service and all.
For international, Texo is really good. I am using them and am impressed with their service, pricing and everything.

Sucks for you buddy - I have had only good service from them and they even bumped up a few of my accounts to the next package for free.

lol, stealing money from some clients and then offering better packages to other clients for "free".

Hostgator, since I've been with them, haven't had any problems, more than 3 years. Like their 24/7 chat support. Used Hetzner for local sites, and they excellent as well.

People are always complaining about resellers, as far as I know, most of the small hosting companies are resellers. Hostgator's servers are held by Planet, some hosting companies falsely advertise that they own the servers, they have it in secure premises etc, they are just shooting a fast one.

Worst webhost company I ever dealt with, Paradigmsolutions (based in CT), dunno if they still exist.

+1. There's still a lot of false advertising / claims in other forms, though.

I've have quite a few ex - ParadigmSolutions customers and the stories they tell me are not so good.
