hi,

got me a ps3 (first time ps owner, previous wii owner :) )

what games would you recommend to first time users of playstation ???

my ps3 is an 80 gig model so it won't play the previous playstation games :o

i'm thinking of getting virtual fighter 5 ( i like street fighter like games)

what would you suggest to a first time playstation owner ?

Play some blu-ray movies, they are the easiest.

What games do you like? There are already a lot of Platinum (cheap) games, like Resistance 1 and 2, Uncharted, LBP, Heavenly Sword, COD4, MGS4 etc, so there are already loads of cheap games out there to keep your busy. If it's a fighter you're looking for, SFIV is damn difficult, but damn good.

i got SFIV on the pc so don't wanna waste money on a title i already played, ps3 forums are blocked here at work :( else i would have asked there first, thanks for the list sgt, i'll try those, i'm mostly into fighting games and would love to get tekken 5 and the new tekken 6 when it comes out, i enjoyed the NFS series so will look into SHIfT and UNDERCOVER, i really enjoy resident evil games but after playing it on the wii i find it incredibly difficult on other platforms :( i'm talking resi 4 here, i mastered the wii version but suck at the pc one, so i might consider resi 5 for the ps 3 if the gameplay isn't too difficult.

Stay away from NFS:Undercover, you will be wasting money.
Resi 5 will have an alternate version on the PS3 next year with motion control support.
Otherwise the usual version is good, can imagine better than keyboard cause you can't run and gun in Resident Evil.

Tekken 5: DR is on the PSN store for about R140.00 and Tekken 6 is coming 30 October.

Yes and Yes.
You can also download demo's from the PS Store - I think Need for Speed Shift is out today.

Yes you log into the playstation store and pay via Credit card for games that are on there. They are then stored on your 80gig HDD

Note that most of the disc based games are not on the store. There are a couple including Burnout Paradise and Warhawk but the rest are pretty much smaller PSN games like Battlefield 1943 and Trine etc.

I suggest GT5P I know full game is out soon but the graphics is amazing esp if you got an nice LCD or Plasma, then a must have game for any consol is GTA4 anyone who doesnt have that game is missing out! FTW!

whats GT5P ??? i'm no good with abbreviations of games i'm not familiar with :)

The latest fallout got me an easy 80 hours...

What about Grand Theft Auto IV?

Recently becoming a PS3 owner, but a very big supporter of the PS2, I've always found the GTA series to be (like the Gran Tourismo series) the heart and soul of Playstation gaming.
