Hey guys :)

I just installed what's app on my nokia 5800, and did the setup and everything. Before I started I checked my balance (airtime) and after everything was finished and I sent 2 messages my balance is still the same.

Is what's app free on Vodacom or is it just taking a while for airtime to get deducted?

If it is not free on Vodacom, is it free on any of the other service providers here in South Africa?

Two SMSes will use such a small amount of data that it probably won't affect your balance. Try sending a picture or something.

Ok that might be it, so it is actually cheaper than mxit?

Ok thanx VodacomData, I love mybroadand! I can actually get the facts straight from representatives... But BTW maybe making it free would be a nice thought for the new red color scheme?

Dropping the price of data would also be a nice thought for the new red color scheme :D

Ok, cul but this GPRS thing???

When using MXIT or whatsapp my phone uses 3G? As far as I know, a phone won't switch RAT types just for one app.

I stand to be corrected...

It's gonna cost the same...you can force your phone to not use the 3G band though, nice way to save battery :p

Yeah true, but I am constantly on the internet so GPRS speed doesn't cut it....
