Whats best graphic design software?

LOL, whats ur render time on a 128x128 icon there? :p what, 1 sec, 2 secs?

Hehe - I never render my icons THAT small. I render big and then edit. Usually I render to .PNG to have a transparent background and then move over to PSP for making the icons. BTW the icons aren't normal desktop app icons, but rather icons / images used in our web-based system.

Try using Vector based graphics for that real, but not too real look. (if u understand what i'm saying)

Or you can render in 3D, and work over it in corel draw :)

Jy moet regtig corel meer begin gebruik, vectors rule! :D

got any samples of ur work for us?

I'll try to get my website up and running this weekend.
I just have no idea how to create an online image galary...
But, i think if i actually sit down for 30 min and google it, I should be able to do it.

Ek doen! En ja, vectors FTW! Ek design AL my logos, brochures, business cards ens in vectors. Corel se vector-trace is ook baie cool op eenvoudige images!:D

Be hardcore and write your own! That's what I did...

yep, gebruik trace daagliks! maar kort partykeer manual brightness/contrast in PSP.

TIP: Corel trace kan net SOVEEL stuff trace op n slag - as daar baie details is, crop die image in PSP en doen appart.

Are you insane!? :p
I know that I'm a programmer, and we live by the unspoken moral value : "Impossible just takes a little longer". And I know that it's fairly easy...
But I've never done web coding.. I'm C# and VB. Attempting that will be diving in the deep end of the ocean... and it will take looooooooooooooooooong

(My webpage is my playground to learn web development and stuff)

Myaaaaaaan! Just do it already! The libraries for image handling in .NET are just awesome - I wrote so pretty useful code that creates (or rather displays) a thumbnail from any image uploaded to the server... So you only need to upload the original photo and the code does the rest - you can specify ANY sized image and it'll automatically crop it as well if the aspect ratio changed! It's a hell of a lot more fun doing it yourself and you get a WAY bigger sense of accomplishment...

BTW, I'm exactly your opposite - I'm a C# programmer specializing in web, and therefore also a VB programmer (libraries are the same :p). I do the odd windows forms / console app when necessary, but web is the FUTURE! Also, web services make integration a LOT easier.

/semi-vent off.
