What's for lunch?

Hahaha. I was waiting for that. :D

Our office is very very close to where the old Spur at Menlyn Motor City was. We used to order food there 3 or 4 times a week and had an arrangement with the manager that we will clean and give back the plates when they bring us the new order a day or 2 later. Otherwise they bring you the food in those horrible carton boxes. Then all of a sudden they closed down and nobody came to claim the plates or those solid 500ml milkshake glasses.
Hmmmm interesting...

Came out brilliant
Spaghetti placed in cold water, heated up. When reached boil I took it off

Meanwhile I made the bolognaise. Olive oil, chopped onions, lean mince, salt, peper, origanum, sweet chilli sauce, tomato sauce, Worcester sauce, fresh tomatoes chopped.

After rinsing and straining spaghetti, sprinkled some olive oil over and tossed spaghetti for even spread.
In plates, sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top

It's a shame when people do that. :o Both prevent the sauce from sticking to the pasta.

That's an interesting comment. Wouldn't the spaghetti stick together if I don't rinse?
Also how do you make your sauce, what ingredients etc?

Spaghetti bolognese is an odd recipe because the watery sauce doesn't adhere very well to the strings. Bolognese goes better with something like pasta shells. With spaghetti you're better off making a carbonara, or a cheese sauce, or pesto, or even just butter+garlic+shaved parmesan+herbs thrown together can be delicious.

Lunch today was a lovely braai'd chicken, with pap and a tomato sauce concoction...

McDonalds.

I eat McDonalds about once a year. Today was that day.

I had the double quarter pounder I think.

How'd you do them?

Shredded the roast chicken, mixed it with the mash (made with spring onions and chives), added an egg, a little flour, spoon of mayonnaise, salt, lots of white pepper, little bit of grated onion, paprika, and a touch of MSG (it's not bad for you in the quantities we consume them as humans unless you have a sensitivity to the stuff).

Then shallow-fried in olive oil on a low-med temp. They come out super crispy and hold their shape perfectly. Getting the balance of flour is important, as flour masks flavours, and can make it a weird consistency. You only want enough to make it less sloppy. As it cooks it will come together.

Remember to let them cook for about 7 minutes on one side before trying to flip, or they will break apart. And make sure there's enough oil in the pan as it will soak a little up...
