What's for lunch?

You should’ve just gotten the pizza. Treif is treif. Avoiding the pizza because it’s Passover, but still eating other non-kosher food, makes no sense. There are no levels of non-kosher. An unkosher waffle fry is halachically no different from bacon. Once it’s not kosher, it’s not kosher.

This idea of skipping chametz-treif food like pizza during Pesach, but still eating non-chametz treif food, like fries or other, is just pseudo-religious theater. There’s no basis for this in the Torah. It’s not a stringency. It’s not halacha. It’s just a mental game to feel "less bad" about breaking kashrut.

If you're not keeping kosher, fine. But don’t pretend that skipping pizza on Pesach while eating other treif food somehow makes it better. That’s not Torah. That’s not halacha. That’s just vibes.

Mcdonalds Waffle fries,
honest waste of money, for 35 Bucks, like 3 decent slices, rest just tiny fragments not even decent spices or dips,

blame it on Passover, where Id love a pizza but cant:confused:

nope, in years past back in JHB Id get given a free pass, this year I'm going balls to the wall, as tough as it is
just like if I was in Israel, where McDonald actually makes Burger buns out of potato flour

and they have weird rituals where they "temporarily" pass ownership of the entire country stockpile of flour to a non Jew.

still could though :p

Finally tried Bennett's Deli (Constantia, Cape Town) focaccia sandwiches after a friend recommended them awhile back. Got the Reuben, One and Trout in epic size to share with 3 people. We all only managed 3/4 of a sandwich but got to try each one. I think my favourite was the Reuben, partly because it was toasted.
