Cleaned out the fridge and made Chorizo, potatoes, mini tomatoes, spring onions and feta mishmash.

Sliced the chorizo, cooked it until crispy. Boiled potatoes, added them to a pan with butter and chorizo fat, let them get crispy, tossed in the other ingredients at the end.

Planning to make my own peri peri chicken livers tonight.

Will be my first time attempting this. Only recently discovered the awesomeness of chicken livers.

Any tips please?

Is 500g of livers enough for a family of 3?

500g should be enough. It might just be me, but peri-peri chicken livers always give me terrible heartburn.

I want to try and make some in Veri Peri sauce

I've only had the Chicken Deli round the corner's a few times now. Never touched the stuff before a few months ago. Now I can't get enough.

No heartburn yet. But they obviously won't share the recipe.

My wife has a easy recipe for making livers:

2x 250g Goldi peri livers
1x onion
2x teaspoon apricot jam
100ml cream

Fry onion until soft and then add jam. Add defrosted chicken livers(check livers for gallbladder before cooking). Fry until livers are cooked. Add cream and stir. Taste. If too peri add more cream. Eat with rice or mash or pap.

Delicious.

I like the ones from Nandos :o

Sounds great, thanks.

I'll probably buy unflavoured livers and add my own chillies into the sauce. I like them hot. Perhaps add some cumin and paprika too.

Do yourself a favour, try the peri ones. If you want it hot just use less cream.

500g is more than enough for 3 people. I'd say you won't finish it. Chicken livers are very rich. I shared this recipe before but it's the one I'll always default to. It's a bit more work but it blows Nando's out of the water:

Make sure you clean them very well. Cut out all of the stringy tendons and wash thoroughly. And they should be fried very lightly, not more than a few minutes until the rawness is gone.

I also used this one and it is very rich.

Do yourself a favour and try my recipe. We were also very sceptical, but in the end we prefer this. It literally has no preparation time and quick to make.

Sliced green bell pepper works nicely with onion and chicken liver also.

Thanks guys. Great tips/ideas/recipes.

Thing is, I'm not too good at following recipes. Will probably make a combo of the ideas/recipes posted. I just taste and add as i go along.

Will certainly post results tonight.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Wife polished the pot before I could get seconds.

Was served with some pita bread.
