Yip been there not bad. Their mixed ice-cream desert is amazing.

My highlight of the night was certainly the pistachio ice cream. I can't even explain the taste.
The starters were amazing. Flavour extravaganza.
Mains were nice. I don't really like fish so didn't take a taste of wife's kabeljou. Steak is steak, was lovely and filling but kinda disappointed I didn't opt for their Smoked Pork Belly.

Next on our list is Black Bamboo.

Is that one dish trinchado? One of my life goals is learning how to make a great trinchado.

Pinocchios used to make the best in Pretoria
I used to work at a fancy restaurant called Villamoura, specialising in colonial Mozambican cuisine, and they made the most delicious creamy, spicy trinchado. Apparently you're not supposed to use cream but I wish I had that recipe.

"Pad Krapow Moo"

Sounds like "Engrish" code for road kill cow - still looks good though

Moo/muu - Thai for 'pork'.

Looks a lot better here.

That yolk!!

My father in law is one of those who eat his eggs so well cooked that the yolk starts turning blue/gray.

Ya dunno how people do that.. Often some aunties will chuck in already boiled eggs into a curry and it turns out that colour.. How they enjoy that is beyond me.

On a bed of fusilli.

Chocolate cake which I baked for dessert. I’d give it a 7/10 overall.

It was. And there’s left overs, so I shall enjoy it again

Sorry for slight off topic but anybody know if there is a butcher or shop selling rabbit meat in Pretoria?

Been wanting to try it for some time now and with cooler winter nights coming up I would really like to try a slow cooked stew.

Anybody else try it before?

I've tried rabbit stew: Loved it. There was a guy advertising a while ago on the Centurion Facebook group, but there were so many people moaning about the chowing of bunnies that it seems he deleted his post, as I can't find it. So there are definitely people selling it, just not sure how to find them.

Got a couple wild bunnies at my mamas house

Hehe. Bit of a last resort option that one.

Thanks. I'll ask the wife to search her Vleisboek pages. Maybe it pops up somewhere again.

I know it is a bit of an uncommon meat in SA but I'd still like to try it after seeing quite a few dishes on European cooking shows.

It's lekker, but quite lean. That's why you always see it being made with red wine/butter/cream etc.

Try checking smaller butcheries. There's a few places that stock rabbit here so I can't imagine you'd have a difficult time finding it up there.

Homemade (non halal mince meat, took me ages to find it) burgers.
