Somma bought supper for this evening. Will eat it later. Wife and I have different eating habits this making and prepping meals at home not worth it. Son is still mostly on purity.

Picked up a carbon steel pan recently and it's the best sautee surface I've ever used

Asparagus... Elephant pimples. Very labour intensive getting them out.

Still French to me. I guess gratin = grated = thinly sliced ?

Does food taste better if you give it a fancy name ?
Basically the main difference between dauphinoise and au gratin is that the potatoes are precooked with au gratin. Both are thinly sliced potatoes with cream dishes (and a few other ingredients). :)

Everything tastes better with a fancy name. Thought everyone knew that :D

So in short: It's potato bake.
