Thinly sliced flipper...WTF ? Dolphin potatoes ?
Still French to me. I guess gratin = grated = thinly sliced ?Thinly sliced flipper...
Dauphinoise is just the lazy man's au gratin.
Basically the main difference between dauphinoise and au gratin is that the potatoes are precooked with au gratin. Both are thinly sliced potatoes with cream dishes (and a few other ingredients).Still French to me. I guess gratin = grated = thinly sliced ?
Does food taste better if you give it a fancy name ?
So in short: It's potato bake.Basically the main difference between dauphinoise and au gratin is that the potatoes are precooked with au gratin. Both are thinly sliced potatoes with cream dishes (and a few other ingredients).
Everything tastes better with a fancy name. Thought everyone knew that![]()
