Was a bit too sweet and curry just hot and not really tasty. But that serves me right for buying Cartwright's on recommendation against my better judgment.
Woolworths have a decent range of curry powders (in the little boxes). Else if you're in CPT there's a farmers market in Tokai with a good curry powder stall & there's another place in Observatory.

Yeah I used their before and generally happy with the ones I have, but this was on recommendation from the person who sent me the recipe and I suspect they don't do proper curry.

Next time I do a curry I think I'm going to attempt it from the bare ingredients.

Prawn coconut curry. I used a LaMotte curry spice blend which I think is a really good quality.

Well I just bought one of those george foreman grill things.

This steak in a pan story is bullsht & braaing is against firecode. #ExpatProblems

All your prawn curries inspired me. Tried my hand at a new curry and knocked it out the park. The best curry I have ever made. ImageUploadedByMyBroadband1468165145.822160.jpg

Used this as a base but doubled and tripled up some things as I had 3kgs if prawns. Also added 1/2 cup of crunchy peanut butter and some lemon juice to finish it off. Seriously Devine.

Also used the shells and head and made a prawn stock which I cooked the basmati rice in. Made the most yummy flavored rice.

Very nice Sharon.

I will try a prawn curry for sure next time.

I wish I had 3kgs of Prawns.

Left over stew from last night, lamb chops, and french fries.

Very basic tonight.

Baked mushroom onion cheese and bacon concoction.

Baked not naked. What is with this thread.

Yeah it was a bit of a backfire when I opened the fridge and they weren't the type that make a "bowl" but are rather flat topped.

Still worked quite well. Just need to use a stronger cheese next time. Didn't use feta as I feared it would be too salty, but Gouda wasn't the right choice either.

After peeling them and removing the veins it was actually closer to 1.5kgs. I was shocked at the amount of skins I had vs the meat. I always buy whole prawns thinking it's more bang for my buck but after seeing how much I ended up tossing (after making stock) I'll buy peeled prawns from now on. Was rather disappointed in them.

Simple Beef stew in the pressure cooker. With caulirice.

Way too little heat for my liking but wife asked for subtle flavours so I left out the chilli flakes. Bleh!
