Not with cream cheese icing. The more icing sugar you add, the wetter it gets. Trust me on this one. ....I've learned the hard way.

Hmm youre right. Come to think of it I've never made cream cheese icing, I normally do a buttercream. Think my wife did cream cheese for a carrot cake years back, which really demands a good savoury frosting. I can't eat carrot cake any other way, especially not with margarine based buttercream which is the vast majority of shop bought versions.

Seems that cream cheese must be folded in at the very end because over beating it makes it runny. Good to know that.

Hehe. Not sure which parts the chef used but it was bloody delicious and he can use them all again!

Wife actually nabbed two of my left over samoosas for lunch today. Sneaky sneaky!

Don’t lie, no such thing as a left over samoosa ;)

Lolz true. But in this case it was just too much because the samoosas were added to our meal for free because the kitchen couldn't do two of our first choice drinks and dishes because of low stock. Totally understandable of course because of the time of the year and plenty of suppliers closed. Was conveyed to us by the owner and he absolutely insisted (even after we declined a few times) on giving us the samoosas for free to make up for the inconvenience.

Apoc what restaurant was that ?

Spice Indian Kitchen. LynnRidge Mall.

Will be back there for many many more meals. Mostly take away unfortunately as it will be too difficult with the kids. This time we were lucky enough to spend time sitting down while kids are visiting granny.

Patty meat balls and cabbage.

Sorry, photos are not of the best quality because lighting was set to extra romantic. Hehe.

Starters were garlic snails in a phyllo pastry basket.
Chicken livers with a pesto oil. Thought it looked strange but it was delicious when I stole a few bites from her plate.

Mains we both settled on the chef's choice of 500g prime rib. Perfectly done medium rare. Best steak I've had in very long time.

Dessert was vanilla bean panna cotta with a carrot fudge sauce. (Oops, took a few bites before I remembered about the photo).
And wife had the chocolate fondant.

Hard to pick a winner between tonight and the Indian night. Both were awesome in their own way. And food quality and service were great on both those nights.

Other two nights don't even deserve a mention. At least the company was great. But for food quality and service even McDonald's would give them a run for their money.
