Vinegar braised pork with sautéed leeks and shallots, and potatoes dauphine (choux pastry mixed with mashed potato and fried)

Looking forward to some xmas party food pics.

Interesting, let us know how it turns out.

Forgot to take a picture of the finished product but it really just looks like a pasta.

As a load shedding solution it worked brilliantly as I could just let it sit with the residual heat after the power went and still get a good warm meal out.

I would say the penne I used was a bit overcooked so in future I would either keep a very close eye on it once that goes in or simply cook it alternatively if not having the power issue like today.

Bacon could also be friend separately and dumped in at the end if you prefer more crispy chewy bits.

As a meal prep solution it would work amazingly as I got a **** load out of this with multiple helpings and 4 tupperwares of 250-300g odd.

Used this recipe but without the cream of chicken and just added more stock instead. Used less cream as well. So in future will try it exactly as per recipe should have a bit more sauce.

Used less chicken and breasts as well. They were a bit drier and not as strong in flavour but I just used what I had on hand and it’s typical of this kind of cooking.

1kg of Chicken thighs diced
300 grams Bacon diced
400 grams Mushrooms sliced
1 Onion diced
3 teaspoons Garlic minced
2 cans of Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
2x 600ml Thickened Cream
1 Chicken Stock Cube
1 pkt 500 grams Fettuccine
METHOD
1. Add chicken, onion, bacon, garlic, mushrooms, stock cube into slow cooker.
2. Pour over soup mix
3. Add cream
4. Stir together
5. Cook on LOW for 4 hours
6. Put pasta in cooker
7. Gently combine
8. Cook on HIGH for a further 1.5 hours in 6L slow cooker

Would also consider adding the cream right at the end with the pasta.
