What's for supper?

I've just had a very nice pizza in an Italian restaurant in Dakar. But my one friend had a shocker of a seafood effort. No cheese and thick dark tomato sauce that screamed 'heartburn'.

Funny thing is, I couldn't hear myself think when I was eating it, but you could hear a pin drop when I left the place at half time. Some football game or other was on apparently :p

You should taste it here in Singapore. They think that thick-bread-bases with chemical-cheese-goo crusts are the norm; they put the weirdest seafood on all of them; you can hardly find any pork products on a pizza, so no ham and no bacon; some places use Heinz ketchup as the tomato base; they are tiny; they protect their limited mozzarella reserves like truffles so they often chuck on cheddar instead; oh and they're cheap-skates with the cheese; wood-fired pizzas are practically un-heard of; and they cost between $20 and $50 depending on where you go - for a single pizza...

I don't know what you're describing there, but it's clearly not pizza...

Singapore? Holiday or permanent(ish) move?
If the latter, you have clearly identified a gap in the food market and should now look to exploit it :D

And as many exes have told me, exploitation is my middle name.

Yeah, more permanent(ish)...

Chicken on an open heat element (those heat rods over a bowl of water).

With some self-made marinade (enough to soak my braai broodjies into) ... (Tomato sauce, chutney, mustard, curry paste, soy sauce, dried 'erbs, olivia oil)

Basket of crumbed oysters, crumbed scallops, tempura prawns and fish balls, with szechuan pepper sauce...

Quoted myself.

Just because I hate posting at the end of a default forum page.
