Went to a 'indian' braai once and all the meat was like yellow or orange from some curry marinade. Was really not nice (& tough) but I ate it out of politeness, also tough as hell and everything was mutton including the wors.

Any Superspar should stock them. Come to think of it, my local Prick and Pray (smallish store) stocks the stuff as well.

I'm not a big fan of ice cream so never buy it, but I know it's here. Last price I recall was about R75 for a tub which is just ludicrous...

They were probably Hindu. Hence no beef or pork. And they marinate with chilli powder. then overcook the meat.

I only use knorr spare rib basting from a bottle. Will use masala only on request.

mutton, beef, pork. that's the order you do the meat seeing as i always took smoked gammon steaks. :D oh my hat! smoked gammon steaks on a braai is the tits!

my in-laws do the meat well. not over spiced. stay away from the mutton wors if it's your first few times. i don't know where they get it, but it's the 'ot 'ot 'ot 'ot version. :)

Was a work social and the witokes were outnumbered 10-1. Some guys were hindu & others christian, were no muslims.

Nah, I could spot the the green chili chunks in the wors, it was hot but it really attacked me with a vengeance the next day! :D
 
It's not the chillis causing the stomach issues. Scientifically proven to be an old wive's tale...

the second time i stayed over at the wife's place, i got mutton sausages for breakfast. green sausages. if it's not the chillies, then i don't know what caused the harrowing experience i went through about three hours later.
 
My famous basil and rocket salad with chilli and garlic olive oil dressing, creamy tomato soup with homemade garlic croutons and a glass of red!

Coloureds too :) The only time we've catered for everyone is our house-warming and our son's 2nd birthday party...meat is waaaay too expensive these days and our guy friends eat a lot too.
