What's for supper?

I&J chicken tikka masala

And

Tripe curry

Both frozen. So not much effort.

Are you gymming now?

Yep, I'm in my third week.

But don't worry, I don't take the protein shake everyday because I'm only doing light weights at the moment. I first want to get my muscles aerobically fit before I start with the heavier weights.

I think the extra protein will only help me then.

Just hit the heavy stuff and don't move for three days

TBH I'm not sure if the protein shakes are all that useful. The guys I've seen in gyms who have real strength, power and effectiveness don't tend to bother with that stuff too much. And they're pretty costly as well. Gymming is actually not any different to any other sport in that it takes a lot of training for a long period of time to become really effective to the point where you know how to use all the shakes and the rest of it, and control your own routines. But in the beginning you should really be focusing on things like getting your posture right - e.g. looking up with your back straight when you do squats, keeping feet planted when doing curls - which will help you down the line as you start building up your strength.

I am attentive of a correct posture and I am careful of keeping a sober attitude about my gymming. I live by the motto "Rome wasn't built in one day".

Unless you're heavy-setting, there is no need for pumping up your protein-intake. And considering that you're doing light-weights, all that you're doing is promoting fat-accumulation with the added protein intake, as it isn't fully utilised, so protein being glucogenic, it converts to glucose which is then stored as fat.

The key to a proper eating plan while gymming is to properly understand the role of various nutrients in the body, and not to jump on the marketing bandwagon of protein=muscles. It's just not altogether true for (I'd guess) 90% of people going to gym...

I decided to splurge on supper tonight.

Oxtail stew.

Haven't made it in months ... or any red meat stew.

Peperoni pizza at tribeca
hot dog special from jimmys for my son

Pasta with chicken in a creamy garlic white wine sauce...

I'm not one to brag but bloody hell that was good. I'd gladly pay a large amount of money if that was served to me in a restaurant!

Keen on making something like Picard's prawn butter thing. Will need to go buy some tomorrow.

The ingredients list for today's supper was somewhat expiry date driven (hence the bread) - didn't want to throw out food. :o Except the olives...those are an impulse thing. :D
