You'll start dropping fat quickly. It'll taper off, but if you hit a plateau, read up on how to break it, including IF.

Also, if you aren't fully sated, you probably aren't getting enough fat in your diet. Also, sweet and sour chicken likely has a lot of sugar in it, which will make you feel hungrier.
Thanks for the tips :)

Olive oil confit chicken breasts rolled in fresh herbs, with patty-pans, green beans and a carrot and ginger sauce...

Carrot and ginger sauce?

Yup. Boil carrots in water with ginger. Drain and reserve water. Blend. Use some of the reserved water to make a stock (chicken or vegetable - I used a chicken liquid stock) and use to blend the carrots and ginger. Then strain the pulp out. Back on stove top. Add a little cream. Keep below boiling point and cook slowly to thicken a little. Season with salt and plenty pepper.

Carrot and ginger sauce. Doubles as a soup as well...

DJ - thoughts on stock in general?

DIY seems best, but so much hassle. The ina param stuff seems reasonably legit with minimal crap in it...but the powder stuff is a mission (esp the veg one). You mention the liquid variety...brand?

Ina Paarman liquid stock. Comes in little sachets. It's okay as a stand-in when there's no home-made stock left.

My stock is awesome though - tons of flavour. Made with chicken wings and milk powder - it's Heston Blumenthal's recipe with a few tweaks...

One could say that I, um, perfected it...:D

So you say you've never entered the Masterchef competition ...

I'm barred from entering on account of having worked with them on the show prior to its release. We've discussed this before, have we not?

Had Pork chops in honey mustard glaze, steamed broccoli and cauliflower, with baby potatoes in a garlic butter sauce.

Try the Fir potatoes from Woolies. In a lemon and thyme butter sauce I think. A lot better than the ole garlic butter baby potatoes from Woolies IMO !
