I subscribed to the 384 Gold shaped uncapped account. Recieved an email asking for the EFT proof of payment. I did the payment and mailed them the proof. This was yesterday afternoon. Since then I have got no response from them what so ever. Sent a mail to [email protected] asking whats the status of my account. Got no reply. I then sent my proof of payment again, requesting acknowledgment of receipt. I have still to hear from them... Pathetic service. I dont mind if it takes a while to create a new account and so on, but let the customer know what is going on

Hello,

Please mail me so that I can assist: [email protected]

I apologize for the inconvenience caused. For some or other reason, we probably did not receive your email, as all mails are replied to in a maximum of 3 hours.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

If there is no response via email after a reasonable amount of time, you should then pick up the phone and speak to someone at the ISP. I've noticed that with many ISPs, emails tend to get lost, ignored or somehow fall off the radar, unless the ISP has implemented a good ticketing system linked to their public email accounts, like WebAfrica has.

In RSA, we haven't yet reached the stage where email is the predominant means of communication for online services, though we are making good inroads into it as internet penetration increases, and broadband (by our poor definitions, 255kbps minimum) starts to receive wider adoption, and ISPs start to realise that handling 1000s of calls is cumbersome, and difficult to track, and they start implementing good ticketing and tracking systems instead

Still, sometimes things can go wrong. We live in a world of computers where things can go really pear-shaped very quickly.

Thanks MrBEEP, I sent you that email with my proof of payment and openweb user id.

Just got the reply, thanks for the fast respons. Issue has been resolved :)

the power of the telephone should never be underestimated

I sure hope OpenWeb send me those login details like Keoma Wright ensured me they will on 1 September, otherwise I might just have to b!tch and moan again on MyBB...
