whats it worth?? hdd content

Hi

i have 2 hdds i wanna get rid off, but not sure how much i can get for them
so asking you folks here whats it worth?
one is 2,5" 120gb hdd in an external casing
the other is a 3,5" 160gb in a vantec nexstar casing

what a reasonable price for these?
 
look on gumtree.
I'd take a wild guess of R400 for the 2.5" ext 120gb (optimistically)
and R300 for the 160gb 3.5" ext.

your title says content suggesting that the data on them is valuable, yet you're not saying what the data is?
 
It also matters if they are ide or sata.

Are you nuts? You can buy a brand new 320GB external for that price, a 500GB for R50 more or a 1TB for a R250 more.

I would not pay more than R250 for both those drives considering that they are used and have no warranty whatsoever.

Not even supplier prices are that cheap. Are you getting your stuff off the back of trucks?
 
I guess the price depends on how these are. If older than 2 years then 33% of the current price, if around a year old then its should be half of the current price. But since you are trying to sell then may be ask for more and keep reducing the price until there is a buyer willing to pay your asking price.

Think about how much would you pay for such drives ? Some times the seller thinks they can sell for more because they paid an x-amount a few years back. But the prices keep dropping so it should be worth a percentage of its current prices.

Have to agree. I brought a 320Gb external 2.5 sata 2 weeks ago for R379 ex vat.
