The part you're not understanding relates directly to the bit above it. To get ultra wide on a crop body means buying EF-S glass, and EF-S glass doesn't retain its value as well as an L lens which doesn't depreciate much in value. Something like the 16/17-35 f/2.8 doesn't even have an EF-S equivalent for field of view and speed. I've made the mistake of buying unwanted glass before (Minolta SR mount for my X-700 instead of F mount for my F2) which I'm now fairly stuck with, I'd prefer to stick to highly sought after, quality glass in future.
Um. Ok
Well good luck with the purchase and sale.
I don't need 6 FPS ... I don't need 61 AF points ... I don't need dual memory cards ... I hardly ever go above ISO 400 ... low light, high speed shooting, of which I do neither ... I'm not into videography ... I have zero need for GPS and I've tried tethered shooting via Wi-Fi on a 70D and it had terrible lag ... are more important to me than fast auto focus, high burst rate, shutter lag or startup time ... I don't think I've shot an action shot in my life
Just out of interest though - what do you shoot? :/
Sounds like you could buy a Sony Xperia Z2 with a fantastic camera - and maybe 2 or 3 L lenses on the side, at which point you could probably sell them at a profit in a few years?
