Whats more profitable? Contract or prepaid?

Who do service providers get more from? Contract or prepaid?

Im asking cos I didnt renew my contract so I could take advantage of call discounts which contract people dont get. Im thought contract people would receive more benefits but I guess, once you locked in a contract, they dont really care about you after that.

I have a couple of topup contracts on my name (wife, daughter and a charity case I'm helping out) and then my contract phone.

Only reason why I'm on contract is the piece of mind that I have airtime to dial out. Thats the only reason - and TopUp guys get the better deals now.

It depends how you define it, overall there's more profit in prepaid because there are so many more prepaid users. But the ARPU for a contract subscriber is substantially higher.

Thanks for answering guys. No wonder contract people are always left out in the cold in terms of the call discounts etc etc.
