Whats up with Virgin Data Rates

The one I bought on Thursday was R25 and included R50 airtime. You do the math ;)

Stellenbosch CNA. But there were only 4 of those old red starterpacks that had the airtime included and I bought them all. (4 x R25 = 400MB :D )

They only have the white ones now (and if I recall correctly she told me they are 95c each.)

95c each?? Yoh far as i knw virgin mobile starter packs are sky high 4 the value in durban...same thing happening with cell c on packs, its worth cents one week than worth a loaf of bread on the other....madness!

Btw anyone having their virgin sim card suddenly saying its inactive? A Weird network 4sure!

well i've also seen my data going misssing. I use a cellphone as a modem. COnnecting to normal towers etc. (i don't put in special settings or whotnot)

Load R50 which is suppose to give 100mb of data.

but ye, sometimes u get upto 70mb and all the airtime is finito. (i monitor the downloads /uploads combined on Netlimiter)

did the rates go up?? it was 50cent per meg a while ago

If you are going to use small amounts of data and don't care about slow speeds, then stay with Virgin. Or move to Vodacom and get a bundle and fast HSDPA speeds.

Virgin is useless. In South Africa at least.

I wish they'd step up a notch or three - like Sensorei, I can't even go onto the internet for 95% of the time (no jokes) - and the "send settings" also doesn't work.

Absolutely dissatisfied and I plan on moving once my "commitment" has ended.
It does, but you have to wait like 4 HOURS.

MTN has real data bundle rollover. Dont use Voodoo com. 50% more expensive data bundles for data bundle rollover.. but most of the time u use it up before i could roll over. So its just a way to make More money

Fsck Vodacon

I am happy with Virgin. Usually have a 200Kb con, good enough for RTS online.

As I don't have Hspda coverage, Virgin are by far the best. But I'm getting Dsl shortly . . .

As in 25KBytes/sec? Didn't think that was possible on Virgin.

edge. Virgin has edge because they use Cell C's infrastructure. I only have problems with Virgin when the towers are over utilised. But at night after 10pm the speeds are great.

Do you guys still have the billing probs? I went over to voda a month back since Vm was charging me too much - not that I've gotten anywhere...Voda's charging me R5 per meg if I work it out. Ahh fark the SP's, I'm chucking my phone away...
