i heard from someone working at vodacom that they are gonna release somthing data related that will make cellc and heita their little bithces... can anyone confirm this?

Will wait and see, but for the next 10 months it's Cell C for me.

I hope not.

I wish they'd concerntrate on getting there current network up and running correctly first.

I can't wait for the day I don't see GPRS or EDGE signals on my phone and the minimum is normal 3G

Tech Central said that Vodacom might be changing their brand, not too sure about Data. But if its data hope they do whatever they need to and fast before I got out and buy that 1grand thing

Most probably change the name from Vodacom to Vodafone, but that has been speculated since the day Vodafone bought the controlling stake in Vodacom from Telkom.

I dont think so, im sure not going go get a vodafone red simcard just had a simswap and that was a big problem, thou for the record vodacom phoned me everyday till the problem was sorted, network problem based customer service is great!

Who cares? Remember a gazillion years ago Datsun became Nissan in South Africa. The ads said it all: Datsun - Nissan: The same thing

It has my experience that when these giants like Vodacom etc change to silence mode changes, small or large remains to be seen. I expect 1 - 7 Dec 2010 as the most revealing period. Just my 1 cents worth.

Haha, make Cell-C their bitches? LMAO!

I know what Vodacom is planning, I have a guy on the inside..... he's pretty high up.

They are launching a new product, called "Vodacom Happy Half Hour" or something - you get to download as much as you want at a speed throttled to 512kbps on local only shaped http websites, between 3:30 and 4:30 am on tuesdays.

I also know a guy in the Advertising industry, that said it is going to be called vodacom's Tripple-H special, so who knows what it's going to be called?

He also told me about another product that is going to compete with Heita head on - they are launching the vodacom Super Advanced Bundles soon, where you pay R589 for a Gig, and get up to 21Mbps speeds if your modem supports it.

LOL! They will also allow you unlimited music downloads that can only be played on your phone while you have your mother and grandmother with you.

They will wait 6 months and then come in 1 cent cheaper than Cell-c , same deal , same everything . This is how it works. Vodacom NEVER release something "of their own" , they just see what works from MTN or Cell-C and come in slightly cheaper.

Yip, that's why it's branding itself as the "leading cellular network" and not "the leading mobile broadband network".

Without a doubt, you’ll get more Broadband for your Rand when you choose Vodacom Broadband.

Nope, this is NOT an old ad, it comes straight from Vodacom's site! I wonder if Vodacom has even noticed Cell C's rates?

omfg wthbbq this is their answer to Cell C, really if this isn't the crowning turn in the waterpipe that is Vodascum, really guys, really that's the best you can do?

I really have to know why they have a hard on for allowing us these so called "extras" between 12am and 5am, sure for the 5 people in the country that will actually use it, it's just dandy but for millions of others they might as well take a crap on our doorstep and call that a little extra and expect us to happy about it. VC has to be the most delusional company in SA, really the mind boggles. Cell C for the absolute win.
