I'm extremely disappointed with Openbrowse. I'm paying for the (supposed) 384 package. As I understand, this means I should get reasonable speeds (I understand that I won't go up to 384k). Instead, pages don't load completely, time out, images don't load at all. So I did a speed test.

13kbps? Wait...there must be something wrong with my setup, then. So I head over to the IBurst local speed test...

Hmmm...seems right. Wait...let me try my SAIX-based account just to make sure.

It indeed does look like the problem is with Openbrowse. Yes, I've disabled any software that could interfere with the proxy.

I'm running Vista, but this shouldnt be a problem. I've mailed Openweb about this before, and they assured me that Openbrowse runs "at speeds in excess of 384k". And that my setup must be at fault. Which it definitely isn't.

I'm cross. Openweb, don't advertise something that you can't deliver. If any other users of Openbrowse can show more promising results, I'll accept that something's wrong on this side and apologise.

Im also having a problem with OpenBrowse, most of the time it hangs and says "Initializing" or webpages will not open, local and international sites....

Hi Guys

The OpenBrowse network is experiencing 2 x network problems this morning, causing slow to extremely slow speeds.

The problem started at 06:30am this morning, and engineers are still attending to the problem.

I apologise for the inconvenience, and assure you that OpenWeb is doing all in their power to restore service.

Hi Mr Beep ;)

I have a question for you if you don't mind. Do you allow a separate subscription to openbrowse eg. 10GB local only account and buy an openbrowse subscription.

And another question, can a person download files using openbrowse? Like Windows Updates and normal downloads, like a program or something?

Thanks Mr Beep, feel to answer this on Monday or next week, it's not fun to work on Sunday ;)

Hi,

I'll have someone pop down and check our OpenBrowse servers.

Speeds like that are nowhere near 384k and especially as its towards the end of the month, the OpenBrowse portion of your account is essential for your browsing.

I'd be interested to see the outcome as i intend changing my 30gb account to include openbrowse from Jun onwards

"OpenBrowse is only for browsing" thats what my browser says when I try download a file...but I sometimes im able to download files from Microsoft

I have it on authority that the network problem at the root of this issue has been fixed.
