I think with the huge uptake, they needed more servers to host the whole lot. Someone's gotta pay for those servers and bandwidth.

Mine was als extended, twice now. I think they can see that I don't use it that much, so they are trying to get me to use it more before they charge.
But I'm a loyal GTALK user.

I think R50 is pushing it. That is about R42 profit per subscriprion! Is this even allowed?

Also, using Google Checkout is super easy and safe. Personally I don't see the appeal. It might make sense for people withour a credit/cheque card though I guess.

Mine shows as expiring on 2012/11/20. However, I can't recall when I first installed it. Is there a way to determine this from the Play store? The installation date for Whatsapp shows as the date I got my S3, not the date I installed it on my previous phone.
 
I use it on my pc :) I have a "dumb" phone, but sending sms messages overseas at R1.50 is stupid. Youwave Android emulator + you tube = :)
