WhatsApp drops support for old iPhones

That's the iPhone 4S from 2011/2013 for which Apple dropped support in 2016.

Not good! Need to keep a decade old phone running until at least 2030 imo...

unless it's android based in which case my opinion changes to 6 months

Slow news day? Who gives a **** about an 8yr old iPhone not having support for the latest software?

Someone here is going to find a way to complain about it.

Not an Apple fan. But if you have an 8 year old phone still running, that's impressive.

You've gotten your money's worth, cut your losses and upgrade

Facebook are hypocrites for complaining about climate when they are the ones causing greenhouse gases by not letting people use their old tech.

Kudos to Apple for making hardware that actually lasts. ( I hate apple normally, but give credit when due)

WhatsApp drops support for old iPhones

WhatsApp has dropped support for Apple's iOS 9 mobile operating system, cutting off users of older iPhones which are not capable of running more recent software.

This is according to a recent update on the app's official FAQ page, which now states only iPhones running iOS 10 and newer are supported on WhatsApp.

Welcome, welcome to the bottomless hole of the Digital Etopia Wonderland, what a gigantic waist of resources and time this turned out to be in just 30 years.

Whatsapp still supports Android Ice cream sandwich that came out in 2011. Apple API's is not as backwards compatible as Android.

As someone who hates Apple it impresses me how long they last ... it proves that focusing on fewer releases means you have time to focus on making quality phones
