I'd say the benefit of having great looking GIFs and lower file size is definitely worth that downside. And you should be able to send the GIF as an uncompressed file if you want to transfer it over Telegram properly.

please try that and see if it works for you. i just tested it and it converts it to .mp4 no matter what i do.

Not at my PC atm, but I won't expect it to work if it doesn't for you. Tbh it's so much easier to use @gif for all GIF sending.

You could always zip the file and send that, but that would involve a pretty weird determination to transfer a GIF file.
