So just found out this morning via @OGroteKoning that with Whatsapp's latest update you can Whatsapp from the web. How awesome is that?

If the update is not yet available on your handset, here's the latest apk: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/whatsapp-inc/whatsapp/whatsapp-2-11-500-apk/

Setting it up:
- Go to web.whatsapp.com
- Open your upgraded Whatsapp -> Settings -> Whatsapp web
- Then proceed to scan the QR code

Done.

Odd - with the latest APK, I don't have Whatapp web available in settings to scan the QR code.

No need to load the APK, it's the latest one in the Play Store, which probably auto updated already.

In order to get the menu to show the Web option, do the following:

Back up your conversations in WhatsApp
Go to your Android Settings -> Applications -> Whatsapp -> Clear Data, then Force Stop
Then go back into WhatsApp, it will pull your conversations back in and voila - full menu.

Why would it do that? Surely it would pull that from the server?

You'd think, but no.
Your phone has to be on and have a data connection for this web app to work. It's a joke.
