Okay, I am speculating, but I base it on this:
1. When I disconnected my phone from the Internet, it suddenly stopped loading messages and placeholders for images on the browser
2. A while ago, I tried to view a very old image and it said it was not avaliable locally.

With Telegram your phone does not need to be on.

yeh, i like the telegram way as well, but oh well... i have too many contacts to convert to telegram. i have tried... and failed... i love the telegram gif integration.

Unfortunately I have some uneducated fools who still live with a blackberry. Most I could sway, but they have other connections that they can't sway I don't want another client. One day ockie... one day.

Charges for whomever pays your wifi data.
