Does anyone know when the i7 (specifically the 920) and the 1366 socket motherboard prices will drop... 3000 for asus p6t Deluxe v2 still to much and 2800 for i7 920 also ... any predictions

I predict that they'll drop the day after I buy 1 (if that ever happens :))...it's the kind luck I have :p

hehe ya thats the worst and i hate it with my luck i will buy one and next day they being given out for free... would early 2010 give any hope

Well i saw that the i9 is being designed for the 1366 but what about i10:D hehe doubt they will still be naming with "i"s

i7 prices will never drop. The cheaper processor just get discontinued. That's why i5 got released. Intel specifically wants to separate the market into the two different rockets.

I agree, I think the 930 will replace the 920 and then the 920 will be obsolete.

So your saying that even by 2010 i will still be looking at 2800 for i7 920 or will i have maybe 2000 to look at

Core I7 1366 = Workstation boards - gonna always be pricey (extra features)
Core I7 1156 = Desktop Coards - cheaper version (leass features)

If im correct

ya that looks right i no the 1366 will always be the more expensive one but i want it hehe is 2000 realistic

ya true but with a 3k MoBo and 1k cooler and 1.6k RAM and 1.6k PSU then 1k case ... it adds up quite a bit

it has been doing quite well these past few weeks it went for 7.7 to 7.9 to 7.6 now at 7.3 lets hope it drops more :) ... can i expect a 800 drop in i7 920 price by next year and even for Asus P6T Deluxe v2 can i expect a drop to maybe 2500 ... i just tight on money and hoping for the best

If money is tight you should ask yourself if you need such a powerful pc.

Surely i5 would do the job just as well.

I am thinking about future ... the 1366 socket is the main idea i am looking for early next year hopefully ...
