To survive the coming onslaught, he advises existing operators to reposition themselves by developing a tailored offering as well as prioritising customer service.
“Today, selling raw connectivity is no longer enough, since bandwidth will quickly be turned into a commodity.
We need to deliver a suite of innovative products to drive this market and capture the loyalty of our customers,” he states.
I hope we will see that change soon, loyalty is starting to get impatient.

Since we are hearing nothing from iBurst...
Can we move this thread on to discussing the competition in the meantime?![]()
Hope the iBurst marketing department is watching this thread...it seems people are losing interest in the promised land of milk & honey.

I wouldn't call a handful of disgruntled users 'people'. If this thread had hundreds of unique users, maybe then.
Pricing is important, and they can change their minds at a moment's notice, so they need a business that's agile to cater to them.
Which is what iBurst is - it's big enough to deliver, but small enough to care for them," explains Van Zyl.
well my friend uses neotel ...
even on youtube.... if we watched a movie.. didnt have to wait for buffer once
Maybe i just saw it on a good night.. but hey i was rly impressed
Same here .In my experience, YouTube sucks on iBurst. I never watches a single vid which didn't involve repeated waits.
End-user and Subscriber Service Charter Regulations come into operation today
The End-user and Subscriber Service Charter Regulations were published in the Government Gazette on 24 July 2009. The regulations document states that it becomes operational 30 days from the date of publication, which means that ECS and ECNS licensees must start to adhere to the regulations from today.
The new regulations aim to protect consumers against shoddy service from telecoms providers and address, among other things, network and service availability, helpdesk waiting periods and service installation & fault resolution times.
So far telecoms providers were not particularly forthcoming with information regarding the regulations, and it is also not easy to find information about the major operators’ “designated point of entry for complaints” which they must publicize.
MyBroadband asked all the major operators for feedback regarding the implementation of the regulations, this information will be published in a follow on article.
