I think my iBurst mailbox size is 10MB and you can't send mail bigger than 2MB.

Should we start a fund to donate two 750GB hard drives to iBurst, that they can increase our mailbox sizes?? I mean, really - 10MB!

hey kingrob, want a gmail invite?

I developed a serious allergy to ISP-based email after having to migrate from mweb to iburst (actually, mweb all by themselves were a pretty dismal experience)

Rather use Gmail with their 2.8 odd GB boxes or Yahoo who's boxes are currently unlimited... Think about it... are you going to trust anti-virus and SPAM services to a company who can't even get basic invoicing right???

My business cards unfortunately have my iburst email address on it, so I can't change it now... :(

Kingrob ... do everything in your power to remove your email address from an ISP. It's an underhanded trick they use to keep you as a client.

Either get yourself an email address within your own domain and pay for that, or get a gmail account and never ever have to change it. [well .. never eva is a looong time]

The sooner the better.

Stoke, very wise idea - dunno why I still persisted with iBurst mail!

Will get myself an email address in my own domain!

Thanks for the advice... :)

Straight up!

Gmail rocks full throttle... Ive been using it since its beta days and ive had no problem whatsoever with it..

Isn't there a way to forward all email that gets sent to the iburst one to a gmail one.

If i were u, i'd send out a bulk email or something, just notifying ppl of ur addy change..

Don't u guys just love the Spam seperation on gmail?

I've never used iBurst's email as it ties you to the ISP as already stated in this thread.
I've also been with Gmail since beta and up till now all mail in the spam box has truly been spam, that spam filter really works well.

I've also got a webmail account since beta days, but since they changed to their new system awhile back their spam filter sucks and I get a lot of spam in webmail that ends up in my IN box.

If you want the best of both worlds this is what I would do:

- Check http://co.za/whois.shtml for a domain name that suits you and is available
- Register with a free DNS service like freedns.afraid.org and sign up your new domain
- Register the domain with co.za and pay your R50-00
- Sign up with Google Apps http://www.google.com/a/?utm_source=en-gmail&utm_medium=et&utm_campaign=landing-nav-v1 Google Mail now offer mail server services and the starter edition is free (for up to 100 users for your domain)
- Set your MX records on the DNS service to the Google servers (they're listed after you sign up)

TADA: You got mail! Your own domain with Gmail reliability and no ISP tie in

Email & Web Hosting

Kingrob,
I agree with many of what is said in thread. I moved away from Iburst & " free webmail" senarios's.

I created my own domain and email account and how offer these service to the public.

Free domain (.com, .co.za, .net), unlimitted email account and disk space, web hosting.

For more please PM me.

hey, was wondering, can you have different aliases for a gmail account?

You can also set up forwarding easily enough between accounts so you could 'construct' a series of aliases that all point to one inbox, and when you reply to mails from those aliases gmail would use the alias to which it was sent (sort of).

i've been trying to add a new gmail address to my current gmail account but keep getting this error: "Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password."

dont suppose any1 else had this problem?
