A teenager who murdered a seven-year-old boy after being promised R20 000 for a child's head told a social worker he was driven to commit the crime because he had fantasised about the "dramatic changes" the money would have made to his family.

The 17-year-old from Clermont, who cannot be named, was never paid the money and now faces a long time in prison.

He pleaded guilty in the Durban high court in November to the murder of Vuyani Ngqulunga, also of Clermont.

He said he had been approached by the man he was working for, "Pat", who had offered him R20 000 for the head of a young child.

He said he had taken the little boy - who lived in his neighbourhood - back to his shack, where he had stabbed him several times before cutting off his head.

We hear about these incidents all the time - when will it stop.. Im getting more and more fed up with these BS cultural medicinal practises - its creating the need for people to murder children for body parts that do fsck all for anybodies health.

Where is the education!!!!!!! :mad::(
 
This is a very sad story, and one that shows the power of money.

Why are there still "traditional healers" in this country? They seem to be pretty close to a vast majority of crimes - in some cases even behind the crimes. Shouldn't communities snub these people, as honestly they should have no place in a civil society.

That's the extent of the savage that committed this horrific crime, he was only afraid of being caught and he didn't think twice about taking a young life in such a brutal way. Words absolutely fail to describe my disgust at this 17 year old piece of vermin - may he rot in hell for all eternity :mad:

killing them won't help, maybe just a little. it's the mindset of these people that needs to change.

it's absolutely unbelievable how they can think nothing of human life, especially when it's kids we're talking about here. my my my. what kind of world are we living in? do these people not have the slightest conscience?

Beetroot and potato cures aids, Its not bribery until you get caught, Women cant wear pants... ad nauseum

I dont have to even point where some of the mindset comes from... leadership by setting the example will solve many problems..

How exactly is the head used? (I'm not sure I really want an answer to that :sick:)
 
How hectic is that!?!? Imagine cutting someone's head off.. never mind doing it while still being young!!?!??!

The belief in Muti won't subside until people are more educated... er .. no wait... many educated people believe that JDogg and all that crap in the bible is real, despite being educated and relatively intelligent... Mmmmmm.. maybe when people are educated they at least wont go to the lengths of killing someone to death for muti stuff....I walked past a muti shop in JHB central once... looked pretty hectic, wanted to go in, but who knows, maybe I would not have escaped with my balls.. I like having balls!!!

Did go into a VooDoo shop in New Orleans once.. that was awesome, lots of evil stuff in there...
 
I know these "healers" are our traditon and culture but nowdays they seem to be doing more harm then good.

Maybe it's time we started a massive campaign to educate the people against these wolves in sheep's clothing. They are out to make a quick buck. I personaly don't believe in this sangoma hogwash despite being African
My dear friend who died of AIDS would still be alive today had he taken his ARV's and not put his life in the hands of an unscrupulous traditional healer. When he passed on I did not cry cause I saw it coming. The man was educated but could not let go of his superstitious beliefs like his uncle was causing his family all the trouble(the sangoma's diagnosis) when in fact AIDS was the main culprit.

Thanks, I'm excited by my new status!:p

I grew up hearing stories about certain people (witchcrafts etc) who uses traditional healers that use "muti" from humans parts or "muti" originating from other inhumane acts.

I was told that people who use such traditional healers would apparently use the "muti" to curse other people.

When we were young, we were told these stories so that we are on the lookout for any strange behaviors by people going around as "traditional healers"

I remember at a young age, there was a time when two kids were beheaded by people driving around in a Nissan SABTA taxi to such an extend that we boycotted any SABTA Taxi. I can't recall how the community and police stopped such acts.

In Reality never. The savages first have to evolve past the cultural stages and therefore have to adapt to Western culture. As we see all over Africa and in particular South Africa it against their grain or fiber. With China ariving with speed maybe the Eastern cultures will have some effect. Maybe Buddha can cure them!
