We have only just begun, winter is the worst in july. So you best get used to the freezing for the next month and half or so .
Besides it is only cold for something like 2 months a year i am sure you will make it

I wanted to watch a movie last night but I instead closed myself off in my small study because the TV room was just too cold.

Even though the summer heat can be unpleasant I prefer summer to winter. I feel more alive during summer and I get a bit depressed when it's winter.

Surely you have a heater or a blankie?

I used to chop firewood in -15C in Germany ... I preferred it to the coastal winters here where the winds are crazy. Our houses also aren't built for proper winters so you end up feeling it more than I did when going through german snow periods.

Personally I prefer the warm summer days on the beach than being weighed down under three layers of clothing getting drenched in the rain.
