What's with Capetonians and their love of cold, wet, windy miserable weather

It's better than the heat ...you see you can't really escape the heat, but you can remedy cold weather to a far better degree (electric blanket, lots of clothes etc.)

I must admit I too love Winter, I just wish the whoever designed the UCT campuses had put some thought into how to get between venues without being soaked.

Thats half the fun! I love watching the fools running around with their umbrellas inside out

Winter started late this year, I don't think winter ends in August, I think winter really ends around September some time.

Sorry didn't get the memo, then again I did have 2 years of below freezing mornings and top day temp around 10 with 7 months of rain....

This feels like summer to me, in fact I still only use 1 blanket and no electric blanket, dont even know where the heater is, and still walk around house with shorts and T-shirt.

Yea i have to agree. Although this past summer was perfect. I cannot recall a single day in jhb where i was uncomfortably hot. I hate those summers where the average temp is 33

Agreed. I normally hate summer as its too hot in JHB and prefer winter, but this past summer was perfect. I did not feel like dying from heat once this summer it was a very pleasant summer.

To add insult to injury the electricity was out in some areas in EL.

"Go tell your King.... WINTER will be coming!"

The Starks probably say that even on the 1st day of Spring.

It's called an aircon or a pool.

Cold gets in everywhere too. Unless you become a bubble boy or walk around in 3 layers of clothes including gloves and a balaclava ffs
