For the past week i have tried to get my hands on one, but RS Components is giving me CR*P service (and still doesn't have any) and Avnet doesn't have in stock for who knows how long. Where else can i get one?

Order online?

How much are you willing to pay?

i got mine from RS with no hassles at all, had really good service from them with all my orders actually

Rabtron had a couple of weeks ago, as one of my clients purchased one. Their service is pretty good as well.
Is there any specific reason you want this programmer?

Really? I find that their service is truly terrible.
They told me I'd be waiting a month for stock from England, after already waiting 3 weeks (After I queried where the hell my R240 a pop humidity sensors were) for parts on a project with tight deadlines. I then wrote them an email and chewed them out. Had the items in my hands 3 days later.

Thanks for the replies. Avnet finally promised to send me something for Wednesday... guess we'll see if that materializes. My experience with RS Components is much the same as Messugga's.

Future Electronics in Cape Town, but will take about a week to come in from the UK.

Future and Avnet are the only official Microchip disties in SA ATM.

This time of year student projects eat up alot of the PICkit programmers you could also try and go for the ICD2le and for not much more also have realtime debugging....
I have had good service from Avnet, if you're running into walls with the average sales guy try willem hijbeek as he is involved with the Microchip stuff
