Ahem. We're almost two-thirds through 2007. (Anybody remember them saying this was supposed to be the year? And before that, it was 2006. And before that...)

Neotel, oh Neotel where art thou?

Hm, yeah. I'm still paying over R700 for 512Kbps (and don't forget that damn analogue line rental) with a crummy 5 gig cap. Shaped to kingdom come too! And mostly not very fast.

Ahuh. I think my bill has gone down by maybe R100 in two years.

And don't forget, a few years back one was able to get 30Gb accounts for a few hundred bucks. So if anything, we've taken two steps backward and one step forward.

All this unbridled optimism is making me a bit annoyed now. I'm sick and tired of hoping for tomorrow. And tomorrow usually always remains as tomorrow. But to be honest, this is the reason I still log on to MyADSL everyday.

A faint glimmer of hope.

But yeah, 2007 is almost over and we have nothing to show for it. Again. Thus far.
