Tap --> Water Filter

But got 20 5L bottles in our flatlet in preparation for water shortages in PLZ. Need to get more. Unless we have a miracle and get a lot of rain in the catchment area.

I am on municipal....but I go to a mates farm once a week and get 10 liters of fresh drinking water from his borehole...Cant stand that taste/smell of cholorine....Fine for cooking and washing...
But its not for my Oros....:laugh:

****. So what you're saying is when we go to the town formerly known as PE in december we must rather pack our own water?

I've got roughly the same - just need enough of a buffer to install an RO system of our own if/when the time comes

I'm in the Cape Peninsula and drink tap water. Anywhere out of the Cape Peninsula, bottled water.

Bottled water is in PET bottles - not a good, green idea and financially a total ripoff. I use a Brita jug for drinking purely to enhance taste, but the kettle is filled from the tap. I am a retired engineer with many years dedicated to water treatment for boilers, breweries and other processes. We still have good quality water in the larger municipalities, but the government should do a LOT more to ensure that the smaller councils do the right thing for their residents.

Rainwater... I used to buy RO from town because my borehole sucks (yep... intentional) but I converted to rainwater a few years back. I devised quite a ninja settling and filtration system and so far I haven't died, but clever people told me that I won't get the required nutrients. So now I eat salad with my rainwater.
