My water comes from a tap, then goes through a water filter and then gets frozen.

I use to always drink from the tap, but a few years ago I started getting odd stomach issues, took a while to figure it out but then realised it was the tap water, so now only drink bottled water.

So much for living in a DA run city as our water went from amazing to terrible over the years.

We drink a lot of water in our house and found that we cannot tell the taste difference between the filter and RO.

I am on municipal....but I go to a mates farm once a week and get 10 liters of fresh drinking water from his borehole...Cant stand that taste/smell of cholorine....Fine for cooking and washing...
But its not for my Oros....

Activated carbon filters will completely remove any chlorine and chloramines from your water and the taste will be substantially better. If you have a laboratory analysis of the borehole water, you don't really know what you are drinking. Many boreholes in SA, especially in areas near informal settlements or livestock farms are laced with coliform contamination, so even though it looks and taste good, you may end up with dysentery or worse.
