According to the director of BT Games brick and mortar gaming stores might only be around for two or three more years - where do you currently get your games from? Are they mostly downloads or do you purchase the physical media?

You get the physical media, install and are hit by an eleventy hundred TB update, may as well just spend the data on downloading the game anyway.

Online platforms like Steam, Epic are where I get mine. Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm in 2013 was the last time I bought a disc and that was only because of the collector's edition bundled that came with it.

I pretty much have gone 100% digital for all my gaming needs. If there's a crazy sale for physical copies of a game I want, I might consider it, but hardly ever has a physical sale been cheaper then digital.

Only have a Switch right now and only download via the eShop. Tons of specials there so always something to pick up on the cheaper side. Physical stores usually have a pathetic Nintendo presense that is often limited to one shelf anyway. Online retailers tend to have the usual games at the same price or even higher.

Looking into getting a XSS next year for Game Pass so will be going digital there as well

Old school buying physical media, but slowly moving over to downloads. Particularly like my Xbox game pass, using it across console and PC, can download the free games and try them out, simple to remove if I don't like it. Also that EA is now part of it, combining my subscriptions into 1. Not a huge gamer though, still play Age of Empires (all versions)

Guild Wars 2, is only available here as a download, never seen a physical copy of the game for sale. Have all the Guild Wars Cd's tho.

For PC it's probably on the major platforms - Steam, Epic, Uplay, etc.

PS4 I tend to purchase pre-played games with the odd digital download thrown in for good measure.

Laptops don't even come with a DVD drive anymore. I have an external drive but even my old blizzard games I converted to DL version a while back via their website. Some of my old favorites that I had on disc like Civ IV I actually bought a digital version too on sales just for the convenience of not having to use the disc anymore. I never plan on buying physical again although I enjoyed getting the boxes back in the day as a kid. Issue I had is I lost a disc or two that got scratched or broken and it was a big issue. Steam/GOG is just so much more convenient and the digital library aspect is just amazing. It is just superior now that internet is no longer a major concern for me. I did resist Steam etc for a while before I got an uncapped internet account a few years back but now that that blocker is removed it is clearly the superior solution.

I selected other just because sometimes i download, sometiems i buy from a store and sometime second hand:p

Downloads because of specials and convenience, but I like owning a physical copy - though I hardly ever actually buy any.

All of the above.

The last time I bought a physical game from BT Games was in 2013 (simcity). Those were the days when PC games started to breach the R299 barrier. The next one was in 2015 from Takealot (gta v). Both were pre-orders. Other than a small expansion pack, I have not bought any physical games since then.

I have also not bought any big titles digitally since then. Bought like the Jackbox bundles, but that is it. There is simply no way that I can justify R1000++ purchases for games. I have in essence stopped gaming completely.
