Come on Cell_C rep...

What is happening with Cell C?

There's hundreds if not thousands of posts about data throughput issues.

It appears as if your network is completely overloaded in some areas on data...

You have advertised not so long ago on radio about your state of the art advanced cellular network...

Your CEO acknowledged you had some network issues.

Whaaaaaats happening?

Why are you not keeping us updated on the progress of fixing it?

We'd want to hear from you!!!

Hi "DemonSplicer"

I log a network call for each and every network related issue posted on this threads. You are right, congestion is a major issue in most cases. Planning and Optimization is working around the clock to resolve this issues.

In your case for instance, you are situated in a coverage gap. This is due to the terrain in the area (No line of sight between your location and the live site serving the area). RSCP averages -100dB and Ec/No averages -15dB.

There is a planned site however, but i cant confirm when it will be live at the moment, i will however follow it up.

hi *DM*

at home its fine as i have wifi (through adsl) - so, i am not that bothered about data (i have said this numerous times to you and the technical call centre - data at my home is not my worry)

the focus of your response to the post needs to shift to plans to curb the congestion in the cbd's... dates and timelines is what we need

me, like thousands of other cell c customers, struggle on a daily basis in the big cities, especially joburg and pretoria to have throughput on 3G

thousands of us are paying for something that is not working. read this comment again...

you say you are working on it - we have seen no improvement in the last 3-4 months. while it is absolutely true that there's great speeds elsewhere in the country on your network you are failing dismally in the cbd's of gauteng.

i will say it again - thousands of people are paying for a service that is not working. i wonder if the network at cell c's head office was also as congested as it is here if it would make you understand our frustration.

let me quote the cell c website (scroll down to the bottom next to the cell c logo):

...'Cell C's market-leading products and services are supported by its highly advanced network which now covers 97% of the population'

you have great products - you are beating everyone hands-down, but i think you need to add that you have a highly advanced network that does not work everywhere...

Dear Mr. Cell C representative.

It saddens me to say that I will never advise any of my colleagues and friends residing in the Sasolburg to get a Cell C data bundle again.

My ADSL is currently down because of a fault at the Telkom exchange. I am therfore now forced to make use of my Cell C data bundle that came with my iPad. I have tried connecting to the internet using my iPad in different locations now, the last being quite high up in a building in order to get unopstructed views on the cellular towers in the area. The speed (or perhaps I should say, the lack theroff!) is attrocious! A dial-up connections is faster than your 3G network! Just to open up Google takes a few minutes. Trying to do a search using either Safari or Chrome usually just times out. I must now endure the wrath of my one colleague who took out a new Samsung Galaxy S4 contract which includes 1GB of data, which he most probably will not be able to make use of in the leasure of his home. He will have to go over the river to Vanderbijlpark should he want to make use of his available data. Making and receiving calls are fortunately not a problem.

I have also submitted a complaint on the Cell C website, but that just was a waste of my time, having not received any feedback from them.

Dear *DM*,

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Will you please tell me what went wrong with Cell C data in the Moreletta and Garsfontein, Pretoria, area this last week?
I am stuck on Edge now since Monday.
Please give me a time and date that I can expect this to be rectified.
Hope I am not bothering you.

I am moving back to MTN for the exact same reason. My biggest issue is signal at home, Cellc sent out techs to inspect, and all they said was I should piggy back on the voda network, I was not happy about this so I kept on complaining, then I suggested a repeater, Cellc wouldn't install this as my monthly spend was not high enough and I also had to be a post paid subscriber. The thing is I would not go post paid unless my signal problems were sorted out. They also confirmed to me there was not planned towers for my area, so all in all , I had no choice but to move back to MTN, very sad but true...
