Where Them Computer Technicians At?

OK say let me opt for a repair install. Am I not going to lose any data? I've heard that there are chances in which you may. Which I can't afford.

Your data will be fine as long as you don't format the drive.

You might (I can't say for certain), I don't like doing repair installs myself. If it's anything like system restore then anything outside of the my documents folder is possibly going to get destroyed.

Optimally take your PC to a friend's house, put your HDD in their PC and copy your data to it, then do your re-install and copy your data back. Otherwise borrow/buy an external HDD (or another internal) to backup your data.

If you do re-install, I recommend you create a seperate partition for windows of about 10-20GB maybe. Then keep all your music and movies on the seperate bigger partition. Thay way if you need to re-install in the future you can do so without affecting your data.

Thank you everyone for the tips. Looks like I have to send my PC to a repair shop, but have to stay with it, and make sure they don't format it. Make sure I buy an external, partition my drive (thougt of this but never did it). Thanks.

TBH it sounds like you really buggered it up when you started removing XP3 and all the rest of it.
