uuum, that all depends on weather u got accounts with the various companies? Havn't been receiving sahsra pricelists lately, but AFAIK, they aren't cheap, and they dont have the high-end stuff. Rectron will have the high-end stuff, but once again they aren't cheap. I think that Cyberdyne has a special on the MB that you are referring to ATM.

Ask Person, his prices are sometimes cheaper than Rectron's cost price.

Also, not any John Doe can buy from Rectron - you have to have a CC.

Dominic, AFAIK, rectron doesnt have a policy of only registering CC's. Corex on the other hand is very stric about it: only CC and (Pty)Ltd. and Ltd. are allowed to register.

Then the thing is that rectron is not the cheapest supplier in SA. The support from them is quite decent though. Haven't had too many problems, unlike memory-wizard for instance.

Amd socket 939 athlon64 Dual-core FX60 (2600mhz) , dual core - 2x128k L1 + 2 x 1mb L2 ; 2000mhz fsb hypertransport , support dual channel memory - box cpu R6599 .00 incl

MB-K8NPR-S GA/K8NPRO-SLI/939/NF4 SLI/ATX R759 .00 incl

XFX Nvidia GeForce 7900 GTX XXX R 4889 .00 incl

Rectron make it quite clear you need to have a registered company:

  1. • Copy of Company Registration Forms (i.e. CK1)
  2. • PLEASE NOTE THAT NO SOLE PROPRIETORS WILL BE ACCEPTED, THE COMPANY NEEDS TO BE REGISTERED!!!!!
  3. • PLEASE NOTE THAT NO PERSONAL/SAVINGS ACCOUNT DETAILS WILL BE ACCEPTED, YOU NEED TO HAVE BANKING DETAILS IN THE NAME OF YOUR COMPANY

Don't buy anything top of the range now, rather wait for the AMD AM-2 to really hit the market & the Geforce 7950 if you're a geforce fan *spit*. With a nice nForce 590 motherboard.

Oh btw, the new Intel Conroe's _rapes_ AMD

Anyone buying from Rectron or Sahara should shoot themself and every heard of imports? And seriously, all the suppliers prices are cheaper than rectron. I get my CPU's up to R 300-500 cheaper than Rectron from other local suppliers and thats just CPU's.

Like we say on www.zagamers.za.net IRC Channel - "rectron is for the uninformed".

There are only a handful of things worse than buying an fx60 right now and most have to do with violence :/

That also goes for anything related to quad SLI.

Why do you want a FX60, when you can pickup a R 600 pentium 850 and clock it way faster than the FX60.

Now now buying a Pentium4 is a little extreme. P4 is really a waste of time at any price, mayb R600 is cheap enough but still. Its a P4
You shuld never buy any cpu in the hope of overclocking it esp if you'll be using a GB mobo!

I know Eurobyte have cheap prices for cpu's compared to most but like Rectron, you need to be a CC.

Dominic, ok my bad. didnt know that rectron also had that policy. looks like everybody is refusing to deal with sole traders/partnerships lately...

R12000 for a upgrade....

you can buy a new pc for that.....maby 2

and that is cheap for those specs, go to a shop you'll pay FAR more

ummm most computer places wont deal with sole traders

look im called killa computers i can go to sahara rectron axiz and buy stuff cheap cheap

then everyone will form sole companies lol

or be like mecer and charge ppl to sign up even if your a CC we want 170 bucks

_!_ mecer ive never heard of bs like that

If I can make any impression upon you as to what to buy,I will say this....
Listen to ShockG....
NO I'm not a ShockG Fanboy, but he is spot on with every post......
You might think you will gain some magic computer from buying an FX60 and quad SLI...it's not true.Say you go home with your FX60 and fire it up and you get good dual core response and you say "wow, this is fast"...There are way cheaper solutions out there just as responsive.
And NO,it's not the right time to buy right now.

i figured that out and yeah I'll wait.
BTW I'm "hardkoppig" and i am going to buy that CPU some time another.

(but how long do u think I'm going to have to wait)

I understand what you mean by the hardkoppig,it's kinda like when you see a car you really really want and it might be overpriced and more novelty but for some reason you really want it...hehe I can understand that totally.
Give it a month, the game is at a stage it has been building to for about 6-8months...Big times for performance increases! You could really gain if you just hold for a tiny bit.

Closer to Christmass will be the time to buy unless you have to now. Compatibility to the new Intel or AMD platforms is a must unless you plan to sell and upgrade again next year! If gaming and graphics applications is required in future then ability for upgrade-ability to SLI (even quad) or Crossfire is essential. In future you will have new games that will make this an requirement! So we are in for exiting times! Also remember HDTV is here so is Blue ray and many other nice things like PC home theatre and entertainment systems etc!
