Pump that budget up another 3 grand and get yourself a Macbook Pro. It's quite simply the best laptop available and will allow you to use Windows for gaming.

I bought two HP 8710p recently. Very impressed with the performance. Just make sure about the configuration - you get various models in the range with different hardware. They are a bit large (17" screen and num keypad) and heavy but I don't work on my lap and enjoy the large screen and keyboard. Hardware is phenomenal. You might have to add another grand or so to get the better configuration model. Good luck.
