Where to fix laptops in Gauteng

I bought a laptop on Gumtree for very cheap. HP Pavillon DV7-3190ei. After a day i switched it on and the screen didn't come on. Gave it to a technician and he said the motherboard is dead. Realized he didn't even try to see if the screen is the problem, he just unscrewed. He should have connected the laptop to an external screen to see if it switches on. Anyways i have the laptop back but its no longer beeping when i power it on. I need a technician ASAP. Thanks !

Was it beeping before? Right, you say it was.
Did you check on external screen before giving it to the technician?
Try a typical reset procedure (remove power and the battery, press and hold power button for 30 second, possibly leave it ovenight, have nice dreams, then repeat 30 seconds drill many times you like, then plug in power - without battery - and try to power on).
