As per title.
Southern suburbs or cbd based places preferred.
Please don't suggest I do it myself; I do for other knives, but I want this one done properly.

A sporting goods store that sells knives should be able to put you in touch with a local knife maker who does professional knife sharpening.

Or try the following: http://capeknifemakersguild.com/

Take them to your local butcher and give him the puppy-dog face.

Knives sharpened in 5 minutes for free. Make friends with him and he'll do it whenever you need.

:D

what brand knives are they?

some knife companies,(like from the knives i have) do them free of charge u do however have to pay postage..

You might not be interested in doing it yourself but I have this and I've no need to have my knives professionally sharpened. The Warthog V-Sharp. This sharpens all my knives perfectly.

That looks like a device designed to torture people.

Does circumcisions as well ... any takers. I got given one as a gift and at first I was doubtful it would work. Now I use it all the time. You can reverse the blades to polish/finish your blades. Also can set angles which is handy for my Victorinox knives.

Where might one obtain this device?
Although I would just prefer to get it done properly rather than adding another device to the shelves. Since it only needs sharpening after 2-3 years of daily use.

Any descent knife shop. iWarehouse has them as well. About R550 when I checked prices two weeks.

I got mine as a gift from my brother in law who has an obsession with knives.

Nice.

I wanted to originally replace ours with Wusthof but since the maid and wife use them I decided Victorianox.

Nothing beats proper knives in the kitchen.

I'm tempted to get Wusthof for when I build my outdoor man kitchen. I follow the rule of only needing one 20cm Chefs (or Cooks) knife and then paring knife in the kitchen at home. You really don't need anything more than that.

Yep, I do the same. 1 decent Chef's Knife (although I went for the 18cm I think - little hands) and cheaper paring knives and serrated small knives (have some Victorinox in there). And a bread knife I never use. Haven't needed anything else.

Chef's Warehouse at the top of Bree St sharpens knives. They also sell a range of high-end brands.

Awesome; thanks. I've been meaning to check them out, now I have a reason to go there.
