Which is better for car's paint:
Having the car stand in the sun all day far away from trees with UV rays shining down on it, or having the car stand underneath a tree where the birds mess on it and sticky goo from the tree falls on it?
Didn't understand the question?

If there were another option he would presumably have gone that route & not asked which of the two is the lesser evil.Understood it. Refused the options. Make other plans, both of those will cost you money in the end.
There're always other options. Especially if this is going to be the choices for a prolonged period of time(which I assume because if this is just for one day its a pretty moot point). If there were another option he would presumably have gone that route & not asked which of the two is the lesser evil.
Where I work, I have the option of parking under a tree or not parking under a tree...
Then follow enigmas advice. Or look for alternative parking. If not, and you absolutely have to chose between the two I'd get one of those windshield sun shields and tinted smash and grab and go for the sun option. Simply because you wouldn't need to clean your car every second day.
Agreed. A decent glaze can do wonders for the longevity of a car's paint. And also use high quality polish in order to protect the paint.
Get one that's not made from sandpaper...?IMO a car cover is not an option if you have to put it on and take it off every day - it will just scratch the paint.
If these rapidly appearing tollgates all over the highways go into operation, I'm afraid ALOT of people will have no alternative. R2k per month to travel between PTA and Jozi is the ballpark figure I've heard. *shudder*... or use public transport
